I agree with you that the predicted death o...John:<br /><br />I agree with you that the predicted death of the publishing industry is a bit overstated. There still is hope for a vibrant resurgance; however I believe that in order to maintain their prominanace the industry has to pay careful attention to 1) availability of those items that meet customer demand and 2)an effecient distribution system. Perhaps a distibution system that puts the reader closer to the presses, or the "cloud".<br /><br />If I was king,I would try to forget everything I knew about the traditional warehousing struture and how a book get into the hands, or computer, of the reader. Then I would brainstorm with my team about what makes sense in today's technologial environment.<br /><br />Michael <br /><br />PS<br />FYI - I love printed books that I can touch, see and smell.
